DISCOVERING CAPE TOWN

In the beginning of this year I bought a little notebook where I wrote down all my wishes for this year and 5 points how to achieve them. Here’s what I think:

  1. Do what you LOVE the most
  2. Be in contact with your INNER CREATIVITY
  3. Go to the places you can GROW
  4. WORK hard
  5. BELIEVE in yourself

  1. Tee seda, mida kõige rohkem ARMASTAD
  2. Ole ühenduses oma sisemise LOOVUSEGA
  3. Mine kohtadesse, kus sa saad KASVADA
  4. TÖÖTA hoolega
  5. USU endasse

Then I packed my suitcases and moved with my family for a while to South Africa, Cape Town.

And here I am – in the beginning of something new. Nothing is the same, everything is totally different. Not only people, home and language, but also my thoughts, habits and adventures are becoming new. Great, isn’t it? 🙂 This is the best way to do a full restart to your body, soul & creativity.  Make a change in your life and YOU change. Yeah.

Jap!

“So what’s up, Katrin?” you ask me, right?

It’s been one hell of an adventure so far. Really, I’m not kidding. Coming to South Africa was pretty long trip with flights through Paris and Johannesburg. On airplane I hardly sleep so it was heavy for me.

Then there was an unpleasant surprise waiting for me at the airport – instead of 4-seated pickup truck there was a 2-seated jalopy without any safety belts! And a sumo-fighter size woman who brought the car said just “Oh,…” The company  thought that it would be very ok to give us instead of a truck we asked for a cheezy coupe. Unbelievable. Luckily we made no prepayment so we just took the taxi and went off to our local home at Bloubergstrand.

“Mis värk on, Katrin?” sa kindlasti küsi, eks?

Korralik seiklemine on olnud siiani.

We got an apartment on the last floor with beautiful view to the beach where we can see kites and wavesurfers. I made some pics on the beach first day – wonderful sunset and crazy weather, just have a look. 🙂 That day was storm so heavy that I thought it will blow my son away from the beach! Haha!

Saime viimasel korrusel kauni merevaatega korteri, kust ma näen lohesid ja lainesurfareid. Tegin kohe esimesel päeval mõned mõnusad jäädvustused – imeline päikeseloojang ja hullumeelne ilm, heida pilk peale. 🙂 Too päev tuiskas liiva ning tugev tormituul pidi mu kolmeaastase poja rannas minema puhuma!

On the second day, full of travel power, great will to do everything and go everywhere, I broke down and stayed in bed for a day with hardcore pain of flue in every single bone of my body. After having a sleep for most of the day – the day after that I felt already better. I took my skateboard and went to a shopping mall nearby to have some supertasty fruits like lichis, plums and mangos, mmm…

Third day I also made some nice pictures on the beach and started already regretting that I didn’t take my professional Canon camera gear with me (I decided in Estonia not to take because of warnings that robberies are very common here in Cape Town) but then I ran in front of our pool area into my cool Estonian surfer friend and he told me that few days ago he had an unbelievable incident.

They went to the beach together that day with his friends. He had all his kites in the car, locked the doors and they went to the beach to see if the wind is strong enough to go to the sea. After 3 minutes they came back to the car and ALREADY a junkie had broken the window and was sitting in the car, trying to make it work with his own keys!

When junkie saw estonians coming, he escaped, but they caught him and managed to call the police who arrested the criminal.  It all happened at daytime!  “Crazy shit, man,” I told him and now I happily continue making pictures with my small canon digital camera.

Stay tuned, I’ll post soon again. 🙂

Seekõik juhtus kolme minuti jooksul! Tal õnnestus sõbraga pätt teolt tabada ja politsei pistis pahalase pokrisse. “Jama lugu!” ütlesin Ristole ja sellest hetkest alates olen ma rõõmsalt jätkanud oma väikese Canoni digikaameraga pildistamist.

Püsi lainel, varsti postitan jälle! 🙂

Have a gggreat week! Suurepärast nädalat!

Sending some sunshine from Cape Town / Saadan Cape Town’ist palju päikest,

Katrin
